This guide will get better in time...
this is for windows xp and vista
Do the 13 steps once. You need to do steps 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 an 13 after that to rip your dvds!!
You can actually convert any file type!! to ipod compatible type using only step 12 and 13
1. download dvd decrypter
and install it
2. go to tools then settings then ifo mode look for file splitting
set it to none and press OK
3 go to mode and choose IFO
4. put your dvd in and choose in input the right track that correspond to your movie lengh.
5. click on stream processing, then enable stream processing and select the video track plus one audio track.
6. click on the DVD icon to start ripping.
7. download vlc media player
and install it
8. make a new text document (right click on desktop/ new / text document)
9. double click on it to edit it and paste this in it(on on line):
C:\PROGRA~1\VIDEOLAN\VLC\VLC -vvv %1 :sout=#transcode{fps=30,samplerate=48000,width=600,canvas-height=400,vcodec=mp4v,vb=2400,scale=1,acodec=mp4a,ab=192,channels=2,deinterlace}:duplicate{dst=std{access=file,mux=mp4,dst=%1.mp4}} vlc:quit
(note this is the absolute best quality you can change 2400 to any value and you can lower the quality)
10. change the filename to anything.bat
11. locate your ripped dvd .vob. (normally in c:\moviename\video_TS )
12. drag and drop the .vob file onto the .bat file an VLC will create your MP4 movie in the same folder then the .vob is.
13. once done drag and drop the .mp4 file in your ipod in itunes and ENJOY!!
